The book is written by author Alice Schroeder. She spent 7 years studying Buffet for this book. she has compiled an extremely articulate account of his life giving rare not seen before insight into not just his business self but also a more personal note.
The story takes you from his earliest memories as a young boy growing up in the Midwestern place of Omaha. through to the now present state of his affairs as a business mogul CEO of Berkshire Hathaway.
Having finished this book just under a week ago it is fresh in memory so ill put my thoughts about the book out there. It is a long read along not drawn out with 700odd pages i believe that everyone is critical to taking you on journey to the man he is today. AN extraordinary man but extremely and humble i think readers can easily relate to him as a simple man down to earth and not full of that exaggerated American hype that comes with some autobiographies about people making themselves to be more than they actually are. i think the most interesting part of the book is the not prevalent but still noticeable details of his inner personal challenges and his interesting ways of shutting and negatives or self doubt he has out of his mind. Perhaps the only negative of this book for me would be the hesitance in expressing Buffets true view or certain matters and people, AL tho he is extremely critical when he feels strongly of a view, if he feels the opinion he has will cause more good than worth it will never be shared. but i guess this just add's to the person he is and for being the only negative of a book it isn't much of one.
I would recommend this book to anyone who has a strong interest in business or the type of person that is behind the man. Informative on all levels this is an educational and humbling experience that is well worth the money spent.
